Thanks for sharing. Though I do have a couple questions: 1) is there still room for the spare wheel 2) and if Emily weren’t your sis-in-law how much would the job have cost?

Hi Mike!
Yes, the spare tire is still in it’s normal place. The whole assembly lifts right out easily and Emily even had a flat tire once and with a little help they got everything squared away without any trouble. I think the materials for this were <$100, and it was about a day’s work, including “design”. I hate talking about price, but I don’t have much trouble making a few hundred bucks a day as a carpenter.

Love this design idea! I am looking to do something similar for my 2013 rogue. Do you still have the specs for your build? I would be happy to compensate for your time and knowledge if needed!

I don’t have the specs (I just made it up as I went) but anyone can do it! If you have any questions I’ll answer them as best I can. Thanks for looking!

Hi! Fellow suv camper here – I’m wondering how you hung the curtains. Thanks for your time!
Warmly,

Hi! I think she used magnets to hold the curtains up. She may have had a tension rod across the back, and then magnets for the rest. Thanks for stopping by,
Dan
